I've only ever travelled through Holyhead en route from Ireland to the UK and back, but I walked around the town a bit with my dog on this trip, and the area around the B&B was nice enough. Beyond that I really can't say as yet, but I'll definitely return.

Not much in the Pier area, very residential.
Not much in the Pier area, very residential. Expect to walk a lot, crossed bridge to City Center for the amenities we were looking for, food & historic sites. 2 days were enough to stay before heading to Dublin on the Ferry.

booked in holyhead purely to meet friends off a cruise ship.
booked in holyhead purely to meet friends off a cruise ship. holyhead itself has little to nothing to offer tourists but as a base to visit other parts of Anglesey its fine. holyhead seems like its been abandoned by the council and needs money spending on it, all the locals we met were lovely and they deserve more.

We visit Holyhead regularly as we travel a lot by ferry. So are usually only there overnight. Busy little town, but normally head for a B & B so do not know town very well, although it looks fine.

No busses or taxies. ( found one by chance when they were collecting a customer late afternoon)No information regarding about restaurants close for meals between 2pm - 4pm. Had to walk to hotel. As not informed about kitchens close at 2pm, our first meal was at 4.30 which we had to walk to . Amazing fish and chips at the local chippy. No interesting sights . Would have been better to have passed through directly to Cardiff.
We chose this property because of the location. We arrived by ferry from Ireland late in the day, and departed by train the following morning. This hotel is a very short walk to both the ferry terminal and rail station in Holyhead. The two staff members we met were very friendly and welcoming. The included breakfast was appreciated. A Lidl grocery store is located behind the hotel and this was convenient for supper since food wasn't being served in the pub, however, we were informed that we could bring in our own food.
For a start, Kay , the owner, is a lovely, warm and welcoming person.
Our bedroom was very clean, we had everything we needed. a table to take our breakfast on, a little but very convenient fridge, fill up with milk, yogurts and juices by Kay .
The bathroom got a walking shower.
The property, Craig Avad, is really well situated within walking distance of Holyhead center. Plenty take away, shops and a cinema. Not forgetting the promenade leading to the marina .
And the ferry is close by too.
Sandra is a warm and welcoming host, and a great cook! Can't say enough about the convenience of the location, immediately in front of both train and ferry stations. (Yes, you can see the hotel from the station - I appreciated this from a previous review). Excellent breakfast. Tidy room, new bathroom. Efficiency with arrival and departure. Just what's needed. Recommend. Solid local charm.
I live in North Wales so I’m fully aware of the beauty of my surroundings, but South Stack is another level entirely. Wonderful accommodation and attentive hosts. Cannot recommend this pod more highly if I tried, walking distance to views that you have to convince your eyes that they’ve actually seen. Two minute car journey to the most amazing beach/cove I’ve ever witnessed - Porth Dafarch.
Very pleasant and helpful staff, but a very tired hotel, outdated and sticky and grubby especially in the reception area.
Great personally prepared breakfast but although very kind and helpful staff they wore grubby clothes. Such a shame! First impressions. Comfortable bed and hotel in handy location for catching early ferry.
Good compact room with good sized shower.
Good breakfast with plenty to choose from and dinner was delicious. Staff were very friendly.
We were there for 4 nights which gave us plenty of time to explore the island of Anglesey. Plenty of parking
The room was very clean, had a convenient location and the most important thing was that the man who ran the hotel was above and beyond helpful with my taxi rides. I am very grateful for the stay and for the help. Thank you!
Carole was a great host. When I asked about booking a taxi to get to the ferry port, Carole offered to drive me herself! The breakfast was cooked to order and very good. The room was clean and comfortable. Great location.
The Seacroft Hotel has the benefit of a good bar and restaurant facilities all under one roof, unlike many B&B Guest houses!!! So a good beer and an evening meal is available in addition to an excellent breakfast!!!
Good location close to Holyhead Port (I was catching a morning ferry to Dublin). Prompt response to any questions. Good welcome and helpful staff/proprietor. Clean, quiet, well-appointed room. Good price.
Good choice of breakfast and good amount. David and Debbie always willing to chat and recommend places to visit. Good location to explore Anglesey and close to main road for trips further afield.
the room was comfortable, & clean, dinner & breakfast options were good, host was friendly, free drink on arrival, help yourself, honesty system for drinks/snacks. Close toHolyhead ferry
